Free* Artwork |
|
To qualify for free* artwork you must place an order for printing. We prepare high quality 'print-ready' artwork using the material you've supplied by email or on disc and provide you with a low resolution email proof for checking. We'll put right any errors and typos and email you a final proof for approval prior to printing. We prefer to use your own documents and files. We like 'print-ready' PDFs but we accept stuff from all the usual professional typesetting and graphics packages - both Macintosh and PC - as well as documents from virtually all Windows based applications. If you're not sure if your artwork is up to standard, don't worry - email it to us anyway and we'll confirm its suitability, make any necessary adjustments and email you a proof for checking. Six steps to create high-resoluton print files.
NOTES: Supply your artwork as one document - not separate files. Supply all pages as single pages - NOT DOUBLE-PAGE SPREADS - with 3mm bleed all-round on every page if nessessary. Please don't try to assemble pages into pairs yourself - ours is a computer controlled process and requires single, correctly sized pages - they will be assembled prior to printing. Note: fonts are copyright protected and are not automatically copied when you save your documents. Transferring your files to another computer will leave your fonts behind. Please ensure that all fonts are 'embedded' before sending your stuff. Search the 'help' file in your application to learn more. *Free Artwork means that, using the digital material you supply by email or on disc, we will assemble, layout and make-up pages into artwork suitable for high-resolution printing. It does not mean that we will digitize, scan, create, supply or produce original material free-of-charge. |
'Artwork Only' Prices If you don't want to place a print order - or if you decide not to proceed with printing after the artwork has been produced - then the following charges apply. Working to your layout we'll produce 'print-ready' artwork using the images and text you've supplied digitally on disc or by email and provide you with an email proof for checking. We'll put right any errors and typos and email you a final proof for approval prior to printing.
Graphic design and illustration: Using the text and images you've supplied on disc or via email - we'll produce an appropriate design, supply a proof, amend and refine the design incorporating any reasonable amendments free of charge, produce 'print-ready' artwork and supply you with a final proof for approval prior to printing.
Scanning: Reproduction quality, 300dpi CMYK images from prints, 35mm slides or film positives and negatives. Cropped to size and sharpened. Maximum size of original: prints A4; film 70x50mm. (Larger sizes by quotation).
Photo adjustment: It takes years of experience to be able to visualise how an image will look when printed. If you're not doing it regularly (and comparing the original image with the final printed version) then the chances of achieving 'professional' quality is virtually zero. Strongly recommended!
Product Photography: Digital pictures under studio lighting. Maximum size of product 250 x 250 x 250mm approx. (Larger products by quotation).
Graphics: Publication design, graphics, layouts and visuals, logos, clip art, maps, illustrations etc.
Proofs: Colour page proofs with trim and register marks.
